John Bodkin Adams case For more details on this topic, see John Bodkin Adams#Gertrude Hullett. Bemegride is notable in legal history as the drug suspected serial killer Dr John Bodkin Adams failed to prescribe correctly to his patient Gertrude Hullett. Hullett took an overdose of barbiturates on 19 July 1956 but Adams only gave her a single 10cc dose of Bemigride three days later on the 22nd, despite having acquired 100cc for her treatment. Hullett died the next day on 23 July 1956. Adams was charged but never tried for her murder.1 Animal use Bemigride is also used to induce convulsions in experimental animals.2 References ^ Cullen, Pamela V., A Stranger in Blood: The Case Files on Dr John Bodkin Adams, London, Elliott Thompson, 2006, ISBN 1-904027-19-9 ^ Definition: bemegride from Online Medical Dictionary Tablets This pharmacology-related article is a stub. v d e Other respiratory system products R07 Lung surfactants Colfosceril palmitate Respiratory stimulants Almitrine - Bemegride - Dimefline - Doxapram - Etamivan - Mepixanox - Nikethamide - Pentylenetetrazol - Prethcamide 5-HT4 receptor agonists BIMU-8 - Zacopride Other agents for treating respiratory depression BW373U86 - CX-546 - CX-717 Retrieved from http://en..org/wiki/Bemegride Categories: Antidotes | Stimulants | Respiratory agents | Pharmacology stubs Views Article Discussion this page History Personal tools Log in / create account Navigation Main page Contents Featured content Current events Random article Search Go Search Interaction Community portal Recent changes Contact Donate to Help Toolbox What links here Related changes Upload file Special pages Printable version Permanent link Cite this page Languages РуÑ?Ñ?кий This page was last modified on 12 August 2008, at 16:56
